Woman-to-Woman Oakland Gears Up for Inspirational Conference

‘Brunch and Beyond’ event adds local activist as key speaker – confirms day’s program

PHOENIX/OAKLAND – In an effort to bring balance into the lives of Bay Area women, Bona Fide Event Management will host its second bi-annual conference on April 2 at Cathedral of Christ the Light Event Center near downtown Oakland.

Recently added to the day’s line up is the conference’s key speaker – Oakland activist and entrepreneur Lilly Renee.

Known for her involvement in the annual One Warm Coat Drive, Family Giving Tree “Back to School Supply Drive” and Toy Drive and A Safe Place’s Ninth Annual Walk against Teen Dating and Domestic Violence, Renee is the founder of M.L.R. Community Events – Party for a Purpose.

“Woman-to-Woman Oakland Brunch and Beyond” promises to be an amazing gathering for women seeking revival, rejuvenation and refreshment in their lives through demonstration, guidance and assistance from seasoned professionals in their field. With a theme of “Whole Women Win,” the all-day conference will provide six workshops: Discovering Your Purpose; Fashion/Beauty/Health Tips and Demonstrations; Career Choices and How to Achieve Them; Financial Fitness; Daily Life Balance; and Inspiration and Empowerment.

“I decided to host this particular event to assist the women of the Bay Area in discovering their purpose and path, and from there, how to map a course to wholeness,” said organizer Karla Woods-Stephens, who held the first Women-to-Women in the Tri-Cities Area of northeast Tennessee last fall. “By using local speakers, our goal is that when the conference is over, women who need further assistance have the local connection to help them continue on their growth path to personal, professional, emotional and spiritual success.”

At the Oakland event, key speakers include founder of the Nikki Thomas Network and KBLX on-air personality, Nikki Thomas; Oakland Councilwoman and Vice Mayor Desley Brooks; and StraightMaleFriend.com co-creator and shades Magazine writer, Marcus Osborne.

Early bird tickets for the event are $50 and available at w2woakland2011-efbevent.eventbrite.com. Woman-to-Woman Oakland is sponsored by Bona Fide Event Management, in cooperation with media sponsor shades Magazine – Celebrating All Women of Color.
