A vendor fair and Pop Up village will all be at the Summit. Keynote Speakers: Dr. Wade Nobles, Founder & Executive Director, Institute for the Advanced Study of Black Family, Life and Culture, Inc. Dr. Joy DeGruy, Nationally and internationally renowned researcher and educator and author of “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome: Be the Healing.”
We Run Oakland: For Our Daughters
The Pergola at Lake Merritt Oakland, CA, United StatesOn June 9, 2018, DO & A Sista’s Touch, a 501(c)3 nonprofit public benefit corporation, will be hosting our inaugural charity walk/run event at the Lakeside Park Pergola near Lake Merritt in Oakland to garner community support for our young Sistas and to mobilize against the perils of human trafficking through awareness and edification. The purpose of this charity event is to create a space that will afford a holistic: mind, body, spirit approach toward civic engagement and a common cause central to the legacy of our children, community, and our city. This event will serve as an outreach opportunity for community based services to share information with a population fundamental to our mission; Our Daughters. There will be education, resources, giveaways, and donations to support Our Daughters, parents, families, and community interests in understanding and mitigating human trafficking in our community.
