About our Pianist Frederick Harris has done extensive work as concert and jazz pianist, drummer, music director, educator and coach in S.F. bay area for over 30 years. He has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Higgins, Charlie Haden, Albert “Tootie” Heath, Rebecca Parris, Kurt Elling, Billy Hart, Regina Carter, among others, and has given recitals and master classes in Arizona and Portland (OR) sponsored by Sherman Clay/Steinway & Sons. As an educator, Frederick has taught music privately and in a wide range of institutions for more than 20 years, including San Jose State University, Stanford University, Cal Performances at UC Berkeley, and various schools within the San Francisco Unified and Oakland Unified School Districts.
