First Church Berkeley – Good Friday Candlelight Service
First Congregational Church of Berkeley 2345 Channing Way, Berkeley, CA, United StatesOn Good Friday, April 19 at 7 pm, we commemorate the day that Jesus was crucified with a candlelight service in the Sanctuary. This joint service will be shared by seven Bay Area UCC churches in the area: Arlington Community Church City of Refuge UCC First Congregational Church of Alameda First Congregational Church of Berkeley First Congregational Church of Oakland Mira Vista UCC Sycamore UCC The service will include scripture readings about that time, singing and silence. Also, the Sanctuary will be open all day on Good Friday, from 7 am to 5:30 pm. Come and sit in the silence at anytime during the day for as long as you choose. At the top of each hour, there will be a brief time of music, prayer and scripture. Someone will also be present throughout the day to pray with you if you choose.
