Following a two-term US presidency of the first African American to hold the office—today--it appears many want to return to the era of Jim Crow segregation. John L. Burris has practiced law for more than 40 years. He is primarily known for his work in the areas of Civil Rights with an emphasis on police misconduct excessive force cases raising federal questions under Federal Code Section 1983. Proceeds benefit The Chicago Reporter, a nonprofit entity, founded more than 40 years ago to be a watchdog for racial and economic justice. “Racial peace and progress are more than moral ideals today,” co-editors John A.
