The Sir Jules Haywood Concert Series of the Third Baptist Church is sponsoring a “GIA Music Seminar” on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 9:30AM to 12:45PM in the church sanctuary.
At the seminar Dr. James Abbington, Associate Professor of Church Music and Worship at Chandler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, GA will conduct and teach GIA’s newest music pieces from GIA’s African American Church Music Series by established and emerging African American Composers.
In this large group of singers from the churches in the San Francisco Bay Area, timid voices will sing with confidence and non-readers will benefit from singing with more experienced readers. Participants will also have the opportunity to expand their music library with fresh, exciting repertoire. Pre-registration fee is $25 or $30 at the door the day of the event. You may pre-register online at www.giamusic.com/aacms or call 1-800-442-1358
