Please join the Alameda County Democratic Party and Congresswoman Barbara Lee tonight as we stand together against the violence in Arizona, and here in our own community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rep. Giffords, her fellow victims, and all the families affected by this terrible act of violence.
Please join us on this evening for a candlelight vigil organized by the East Bay Young Democrats with a long list of other community and political organizations.
Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan, Rev. Charley Hames, Rev. Dr. H. James Hopkins, Minister Jeremy D. Nickel and others will speak. Aimee Allison, publisher of OaklandSeen.com, will be the Mistress of Ceremonies, and there will be musical and spoken word performances by members of Youth Uprising.
