    Bishop Joseph Walker, III to Succeed Bishop Paul Morton in 2015

    Bishop Joseph Walker, III will succeed Bishop Paul S. Morton as Presiding Bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, effective June 2015.

    Bishop Paul S. Morton announced his selecting during the closing night service of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship’s 20th Annual Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky.

    It’s no secret Bishop Paul Morton has been preparing his retirement as Presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International (FGBCFI). Serving as its Founder, and Presiding Bishop for 20 years, Bishop Morton has been very open about his desire to lift up new leadership to continue the growth of FGBCFI. 

    “I’m humbled and thankful by this God ordained responsibility and opportunity. I’m so grateful for the confidence Bishop Morton and the Bishop’s Council has shown in choosing me as the next Presiding Bishop.  Certainly, I am committed to the positive future of the Fellowship.  I will continue to work hard each and every day to insure that the mission and vision established by our founder is fulfilled.  We will remain strong, committed and undivided during this transition,” said Walker.

    Bishop Joseph Walker, 45, serves as the Senior Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church located in Nashille, Tennessee.

    Bishop Morton shares, “I’m grateful to pass the torch at this pivotal time in my life and this movement’s existence. For the past 20 years I was a committed leader. In 2015 I have the honor of following. It’s going to be a joy to continue to serve God by following Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III. ”

    Founded in 1994 by Bishop Paul S. Morton FGBCFI has grown to over 800 member churches located in the United States and in 13 foreign countries.
