Dr. Valerie Miles-Tribble – National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS

    Rev. Dr. Valerie Miles-Tribble

Precious and gracious GOD of Created peace, harmony, and sustenance:

This prayer seeks your presence to encircle our beloved in humanity for whom peace is restless, harmony is dissonant, and sustenance is a struggle.

As illness cuts us from thriving in the body, Lord grant them tranquility in their spirit. These conditions of disease are not their choosing, rather made worse by the fears and pain wrought out of the societal stigma still held up to divide and denigrate.

Lord we pray for a full cure; an end to the HIV/AIDS virus, for it is a biological reality but should not be a sign of fault. These biases, Holy One are part of humanity’s shortcoming when people are unable to address the needs of HIV/AIDS victims with compassion, and to share of ourselves unselfishly.

This shortcoming Eternal One is what keeps the human family and community in turmoil instead of in harmony when our beloved Sisters and Brothers with HIV-AIDS deserve the support of family, church, and community most.

Come Lord God – let your presence blot out the discord so that our brothers and sisters find and rest in wholesome healing places that is Love, your Hope, and your Promise of Restoration. Humankind needs restoring unto you O God – Help us to let go of prejudicial stigma to embrace the KAIROS beauty of  giving, Agape loving, and Shalom peace.

May this beauty fill and heal broken hearts and spirits of our beloved.

    May your will be done.

    May it be soon.

In that name of all that is HOLY,

    AMEN
