    Faith Shines Bright On CBS’ Fall 2019 Lineup

    Faith and family related content is on the rise and CBS is doing their part to add to the variety of inspirational options.

    Now in its second season, God Friended Me is joined by two primetime additions Carols Second Act, starring Patricia Heaton and EVIL, featuring Mike Couter.

    Each series in their own way helps to break down the boxes believers are put in when content is created. We are not a monolithic community and enjoy drama, suspense, action and so much more.

    Whether drawn in by the action-packed, super sleuth feel of EVIL, or connecting on a personal level with the reality of divorce and midlife career change on Carol’s Second Act, viewers will enjoy these Fall lineup standouts.

    A psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. The series stars Katja Herbers as Kristen Bouchard, Mike Colter as David Acosta, Aasif Mandvi as Ben Shroff, Michael Emerson as Leland Townsend, Brooklyn Shuck as Lynn Bouchard and Skylar Gray as Lila Bouchard.

    EVIL airs Thursday evenings, 10:00PM ET/PT

    Emmy Award winner Patricia Heaton stars as Carol in new a comedy about a woman who embarks on a unique second act after raising her children, getting divorced and retiring from teaching: pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor. At age 50, Carol is a medical intern and must sink or swim with peers who are half her age. It’s her enthusiasm, perspective and yes, even her age, that may be exactly what will make her second act a great success. Also starring Ito Aghayere as Dr. Maya Jacobs, Jean-Luc Bilodeau as Daniele, Sabrina Jalees as Lexie with Ashley Tisdale as Jenny, and Kyle MacLachlan as Dr. Stepen Frost.

    An uplifting drama about an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside-down when he receives a friend request on social media from “God” and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him. Miles feels he’s found his purpose in life hosting a podcast where he’s free to speak his mind, but that changes when he receives the ultimate friend request. After repeated pokes by “God,” Miles’ curiosity takes over, and he accepts the request and follows the signs to journalistCara Bloom. Brought together by the God Account, the two find themselves investigating “God’s” friend suggestions and inadvertently helping others in need.

    It stars Brandon Micheal Hall as Miles Finer, Violett Beane as Cara Bloom, Suraj Sharma as Rakesh, Javicia Leslie as Ali Finer, Joe Morton as Reverend Arthur Finer and Erica Gimpel as Trish.
