SF Interfaith & Community Leaders held a kneel-in, Monday, June 1, 2020 with Mayor London Breed, District 10 Supervisor Shamann Walton, Entertainer/Activist Jamie Foxx, and music artist Tank, demanding an end to the killing of people of color by police.
Lead by the San Francisco Chapter of the NAACP and Wealth and Disparities in the Black Community, the Bay Area’s ecumenical community along with justice advocates took to the steps of San Francisco City Hall, drawing thousands to the streets of SF in protest to the recent killings of George Floyd in Minneapolis (MN) and Breonna Taylor in Louisville (KY), by police.
Throughout the program, speakers included activist, clergy, civil rights attorneys John Burris and Adante Pointer, victims of police brutality, including Gwendolyn Woods, the mother of Mario Woods.
