The Women of Word (W.O.W.) Oakland Conference 2016 takes place May 20 - 21, 2016. At Word Assembly A Family of Churches, we are learning to live the way God intended, abundantly and free. W.O.W. 2016 will speak to aspects of our lives that need attention in the area of maturity and strength: PARENTING, MONEY & SELF-ESTEEM (PMS). The conference is for young, adult and seasoned women, ages 14 and up. At W.O.W. conferences, we have real conversations about real life situations and we keep it real! He will celebrate 45 years as the Pastor on May 22, 2016. On May 20, 2016 there will be a Banquet to celebrate his 45 years of Pastoral service. As Pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Dr Ephraim Williams leads one of the largest church congregations in Sacramento. During his tenure, the church has grown from approximately 100 members to over 5,000 members. The church has two worship services and mid-week Bible studies for each segment of the family. Our special guests will be Grammy award singer Doug Williams of the Williams Brothers gospel group. In addition, there will be words of encouragement from Pastor Fred Campbell from Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Redwood City, CA). Purpose The purpose of the Banquet is to celebrate to 45 years of service and express appreciation to Dr. Ephraim Williams and Sis. Williams (posthumously) for their leadership as Pastor and Wife of St. Paul Baptist Church. Additionally, this will be an opportunity to celebrate the contributions that they have made to the community. SOUL STROLL presented by THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE #EVERYONESGOTSOUL Soul Stroll for Health is sponsored by the Mills-Peninsula Health Services Community Health Advisory Committee, to promote good nutrition and physical activity as keys to better health in all communities, with emphasis on the health disparities in the African American, Hispanic and Pacific Islander communities. Soul Stroll truly combines the best of health awareness. Approximately 3,000 participants will walk or run between 1-5 miles and will participate in a Soul Stroll health fair with more than 50 resources & corporate partners distributing product and information. The health fair will additionally provide onsite health screenings for all the participants involved. These constructive heath activities are all accomplished in a festive community related atmosphere. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins ‘T-Boz’ is the heart, sound, and lead singer of the best selling female American group of all time, TLC.
