A Taste of Health Returns to Richmond

A few years ago, representatives from various churches in the Richmond community met for a FAITH and HEALTH lunch forum, with Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Program’s Faith Initiative.  From our discussion, it was determined that our focus should be on our youth, as well as health disparities in the African American community, and health related issues that affect our congregations and community at large (the need for education on nutrition—healthy cooking, and exercise).

2nd Annual Womanist Symposium Set for January 12

San Francisco Theological Seminary, the Graduate Theological Union and McGee Avenue Baptist Church in Berkeley are teaming up to offer the second annual Womanist Symposium entitled “But Who Do They Say I Am?” The symposium will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at McGee Avenue Baptist Church, 1640 Stuart Street, Berkeley, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
