    Bingham

The Family, The C.O.G.I.C., The S.E.I.U. 1021, and others to speak

OAKLAND, CA – On Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 6:00pm PST a candlelight vigil will be held at 526 Henry Street, Oakland, CA in celebration and memory for Elder Berresford “Berry” Bingham; a beloved father of three children and known throughout the neighborhood as the “Community Dad.”
Several speakers have assembled to share their fond memories while calling for justice to prevail along with a plea to end violence. As noted, Elder Berry Bingham was Oakland’s 12th homicide in the month of January.  He was found, one week prior, in his home by officers who were called to the scene after family and co-workers could not get in contact with the Political Director for the SEIU 1021.

The family of Elder Bingham prepares to make their first public comments during the Candlelight Vigil and officially states, “We appreciate all the kind words and fond memories expressed to us during this time of transition in our lives.  Our father was a well-loved man who is deserving of continued honor for his contribution to society.  He will be greatly missed.”

All monetary donations (checks to be made out to BRIAN BINGHAM), condolences and cards are to be sent to: BINGHAM FAMILY, PO BOX 18772, OAKLAND, CA 94619

All flowers can be sent to:  FOUCHE HUDSON FUNERAL HOME, 3665 TELEGRAPH AVENUE, OAKLAND, CA 94609
