Dear Lord, we come to you as a collective body from different faiths, cultures and backgrounds praying in unity and as one. We come as one because AIDS has affected all of us in spite of our color, race, ethnicity or religious beliefs. This disease has wreaked havoc on our community and it has destroyed families because of ignorance and lack of compassion. So many of our brothers and sisters have both lived and died alone and we ask that you forgive us.
We pray that you would open the eyes of our understanding and teach us to be loving and help us to support agencies and organizations that help spread the word about prevention. Help those who work to research new treatments and possible cures. Bless the pulpits and other places that put this problem in the forefront of their efforts to effect change in the world.
Lord, we pray that you would help us to be more responsible in our sex lives and conscious of our behavior with others. Give us spiritual discipline to live the way you have called and created us to be. Speak to our hearts in every area of our lives.
We trust you as Jehovah Rophe, our healer. You said you wish above all things that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. We stand on that promise today.
With your stripes we are healed, even of AIDS.
We thank you and offer this prayer in the mighty, matchless, miraculous name of Jesus Christ our Lord. To him be all the glory.
Amen. Amen. and Amen.
