    Naacplogo

    The Oakland Branch NAACP is calling all concerned parents and citizens of Oakland to attend the Oakland School Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, 1025 2nd Avenue, Oakland, CA, 5:00 pm. To hear from students who are encountering a number of alarming administrative and academic problems this year in Oakland public high schools relating to:

    • the biased disregard of higher learning standards for Black students;
    • a lack of teacher accountability;
    • deplorable classroom conditions where students are literally not being taught; and
    • poor (and in some cases non-existent) counseling services.

    Accordingly, we demand that the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) Board members and Superintendent take immediate actions to rectify the problems
