Spelman College Glee Club Returns to the Bay Area

Spelman College Glee Club is on their Annual Spring Tour on the West Coast. The 46 member ensemble has been traveling the West Coast since March 3rd. For over 50 years, the Spelman College Glee Club has traveled throughout the United States, bringing a mixture of classical and gospel music wowing audiences with their melodious sound under the direction of Dr. Kevin Johnson.  

Surprisingly, a lot of high school students have heard of Atlanta, Georgia, but not have heard of Spelman College. One of the purposes of the Spelman Glee Club traveling to the Bay Area is to shine a light on one of the greatest HBCU’s in the country. “It gives young women an opportunity to consider an option after high school to get out of California and gain an invaluable experience of college life out of state in a historically Black College & University.

 

The Spelman College Glee Club’s West Coast Tour ends March 13th.
