The San Francisco State University Gospel Gators are fearless! After recently placing second in Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound western regional competition, the “Gospel Gators” will return to Yoshi’s SF this weekend for their 1st Annual Holiday Concert.
Under the direction of its founder, Ja Ronn Thompson, the choir has swelled over the years since it’s founding in 2004. With only 7 people attending their first rehearsal, most would be discouraged. But their commitment to creating an on campus outlet for students is a testament to their motto, “we sing with passion and no fear.”
This weekend they will add their creativity to the music of Kirk Franklin, Vince Guraldi, and others. If you’re looking for a fun and festive evening to kick-off your countdown to Christmas, don’t miss their Christmas Concert – Sunday, December 16th. They’re known to sell-out, so grab your tickets for the 7pm or 9pm show today!
