Ebony Magazine has unveiled its 28th Annual Power 100 List, saluting the achievements of African Americans in the area of faith, justice, the arts, sports, entertainment, technology, and education.
Each of the honorees will be featured in the December/January issue which hits newsstands, Nov 4.
“The EBONY Power 100 speaks volumes about the diversity of our accomplishments and the power of our collective influence across virtually every spectrum of society,” said Amy DuBois Barnett, Editor-in-Chief of EBONY. “We are thrilled to honor these exceptionally talented people who have inspired and enthralled us, and who have helped to shape our lives.”
Congratulations to the Power 100’s ‘Faithful Few’, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Iyanla Vanzant, Kirk Franklin, Bishop Joseph Walker, II, Rev. Delman Coats, and Michael Bernard Beckwith who are honored in the area of faith and spirituality. They join fellow honorees which include President Barack Obama, Kerry Washington, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, Nick Cannon, Lee Daniels, Marcus Samuelsson, Harry Belafonte, Marian Wright Edelman and others.
Honorees will be celebrated during Ebony’s 2nd Annual Power 100 Gala, Nov 4th. The gala celebration will honor Motown Founder, Berry Gordy with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and will be held at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. The evening will be hosted by Nick Cannon, with musical tributes from The Jacksons, and the cast of “Motown The Musical”.
